A Life Of Upgrades

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Over the past 20+ years, as one who travels globally, I have learned the importance of racking up those frequent flyer air miles. The more miles you accrue, the more upgrades become possible. Our journey with God is very similar. As you move forward through the different seasons of your life, God continually wants to give you an upgraded life. However, many of you are still traveling economy, not realizing that if you sign up for the right plan you could be traveling in business class or higher.

Your life was designed to experience ever-increasing glory. That’s why Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that your life should be transformed “from glory to glory,” or in my paraphrase, “from upgrade to upgrade.” It is God’s heart for you that transformation becomes a lifestyle not just an event. Therefore it is important that your heart is soft and teachable.

Beware of making the mistake that having a wealth of knowledge about God causes you to be glorified. Information that does not lead to transformation is no good. It bears no lasting fruit. Rather true transformation occurs when we encounter truth and let it become our everyday life experience.

I believe the fact that Jesus teaches us to pray for the Kingdom of Heaven to invade Earth means that God desires for your life to receive those upgrades. Often we talk in terms of taking our cities or nations for God. I totally buy into that train of thought. However, I believe heaven has to begin to invade and transform individual hearts first before we can begin to transform the world around us. The more upgrades you receive, the more you can believe the same for the people and the circumstances around you.

Your upgrades are waiting, it is time to buy into the right plan – God’s perfect plan for you!!
